Windows Files has published Windows guides since 2015. Every guide is either written by a named author or reviewed by one: the byline under the title tells you which, together with the date of the last check.

Lesia has edited Windows Files since the site started. A QA engineer by profession, she performs each guide on a current Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation before it is published or updated, and takes the screenshots herself. She is responsible for the French-language editions.

Older guides that have not yet been re-checked are published under the site name. They are being reviewed and rewritten one by one; a reviewed guide shows the editor’s name and the review date. The original publication date is never changed.
How guides are written and checked
We use AI tools to help draft and translate, but no guide is published on the strength of a generated draft alone. Details are in our Editorial Policy.
